Uni Olympian Barb Nwaba competes at Rio

[Posted August 13, 2016] Uni’s first Olympian in 68 years overcame a slow start to finish 12th in the Olympic heptathlon in Rio de Janeiro. Barbara Nwaba ‘07 entered the event as the U.S. champion after winning the Olympic Trials in July and had high hopes of competing for a medal. At the Games, she started slowly in the 100-meter hurdles, running 13.81 for 1,005 points. Barbara Nwaba ‘07: American Pentathlon Champion!

[Posted March 28, 2016] Congratulations to a former Uni star athlete who won another U.S. national championship in track & field: Barbara Nwaba ‘07. After becoming the U.S. Heptathlon champ in 2015 (see her throwing the javelin above) and competing for the United States in the World Track & Field Championships last summer in Beijing, China, she won the U.S. indoor Pentathlon title in Crete, Nebraska on February 26-27 with 4,415 points.
