Uni’s yearbook: from “Chieftain” to “Paw Prints”

[Posted December 25, 2017] In Uni’s first year, the yearbook was titled La Estrella – “The Star” – but was changed to Chieftain for 1926 in honor of the school’s Warrior mascot. Thanks to an edict from the Los Angeles Unified School District, Uni became the “Wildcats” for the 1998-99 school year and the yearbook was entitled “Enter the Wildcat.” Moreover, the yearbook staff decided that in keeping with the change of name, the reference “Chieftain” was no longer appropriate. Ten more Chieftains now online, now 27 in all!

[Posted June 29, 2016] Ten more editions of the University High School “Chieftains” between 1937 and 1951 are now posted on the UHEF.org Web site, and available for viewing here. You can take a look at Uni as it was in 1937, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1949 and 1951. Uni yearbooks coming to UHEF early in 2016

[Posted January 10, 2016] There have been several constants over the more than 90 years of University High School, such as the Administration Building, the spring, and the school yearbook. You have to visit Uni to see the campus and the spring, But soon, you’ll be able to enjoy the yearbooks without leaving home!
