Students, family and friends making Uni a little more beautiful

[Posted October 19, 2015] Like so many civic institutions, University High School can use a little polishing. So the school organized a quite-successful, first-annual Fall Cleaning last Saturday morning (October 17).

Uni Hi Education Foundation board member Janet Hirsch reported:

“We had 84 people show up: 46 Uni students, one middle school student, 33 parents/guardians/friends, plus myself, [history teacher Rachel] Juarez and [principal Eric] Davidson . . . and boy were they workers.

“We filled one whole dumpster and then enough bags to fill another, cleared up broken furniture that had been stashed throughout the campus, pruned roses and weeded where possible. As usual, the kids were fantastic, and the parents really appreciated the opportunity to give back their time to the school.

“With better advertising I think this will continue to grow. Our next one is scheduled for April 16, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.”

A great way to make Uni a better, more inviting place for students, faculty and staff. Congratulations to everyone who helped!
