UCLA promotes Ann Karagozian ‘74 to Interim Vice Chancellor post

[Posted January 14, 2016] Ann Karagozian ‘74, a longtime professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and former chair of the UCLA Academic Senate, was named as UCLA’s Interim Vice Chancellor for Research on January 11, effective immediately. Uni in 2016: 1,670 students in grades 9-12

USAF General Roger Peterson S ‘47 retires

[Posted December 20, 2015] Roger Peterson S ‘47 sent in a contribution to the UHEF along with happy news of his retirement: “[I] will finally retire after 75 years on a payroll including the United States Air Force (37 years from Private to Major General), United Technologies (10 years), Swiss Bank Corporation (12 years) and finally SunSouth Bank (14 years).” He notes that “Thanks to you wonderful taxpayers, [I] received military scholarships to UCLA (B.S.), University of Colorado (M.S.), Harvard and CalTech.” He retired from the Air Force on June […]

Massive Emerson Middle School modernization project dedicated

[Posted December 16, 2015] One of Uni’s main feeder schools, Emerson Middle School, has been under construction for almost two years, receiving its first major improvement work since 1940!
