Could Uni be getting a new name?

[Posted May 20, 2018] Uni’s petition to become an Affiliated Charter School is moving along, and quickly. Principal Eric Davidson recently wrote to the UHEF, noting: “The Charter petition has been submitted to the District’s Charter School Office for review. The plan will be presented to the LAUSD Board of Education on June 5, 2018. We anticipate the plan being approved.” When approved, Uni’s name will change slightly to reflect its Affiliated Charter status; many of you voted on possible name changes earlier this year on the Uni Web site. Congratulations to Uni’s Western League golf champions!

[Posted May 12, 2018] Coach Eric Temena’s Uni boys golf squad finished 6-1 in its dual-meet season and won the Western League title on April 30, posting a score of 492, with three finishers in the top 10: 4.  Anuv Gupta, 89 9.  Lawrence Kim, 96 10.  Dylan Elliot, 100 Playing 18 holes at the par-72 Wilson Golf Course in Griffith Park, Uni outscored Carson (494) and RFK (625); L.A. Sensational, near-capacity run for “Grease!” at Stivelman

Collins & Katz YMCA-Uni cooperation cited by LAUSD

Uni boys basketball team finishes second in City Division 1

[Posted March 20, 2018] Uni’s 2017-18 boys basketball team will long be remembered for an outstanding season that ended with a 26-6 record and a second-place finish in the City Division 1 playoffs. Coach Steve Ackerman’s squad was 23-4 in the regular season, losing only to City champion Westchester and runner-up Fairfax, both of whom happened to be in the Western League. New Charter-School petition for Uni filed

[Posted March 15, 2018] The proposal for Uni to become an affiliated charter school within the Los Angeles Unified School District has taken a major step forward with a new petition to the District, submitted on January 30. The term of the proposal is for July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2023 and is available for inspection here. The projected enrollment for the four-grade (9-12) program would be 1,625, slightly less than Uni’s current enrollment of 1,798. Why?
